Will You Be There?

The 18th Annual High Sierra Music Festival happens July 3-6, 2008 in Quincy, CA. Will you be there?!

An intimate festival nestled in Northern California's majestic mountain range, the High Sierra Music Festival is a unique four-day music and camping festival that features an eclectic, world-class span of music. High Sierra launched as a roots-oriented festival with 20 artists on one main stage and has since evolved into to a 10,000 person event with more than 75 performers on five daytime stages and in five late-night venues. The fairgrounds in Quincy provide on-site infrastructure with plentiful recreational opportunities in the vicinity of a quaint mountain town. Other features that make HSMF unique include its signature Artist Playshops which give music lovers a chance to see both emerging and established artists in an intimate setting; epic Late Night shows that deliver memorable musical performances into the wee hours of the morning; Grizzly Radio, community radio for the festival which broadcasts live performances from multiple stages on multiple frequencies throughout the weekend; and the High Sierra Kidzone which features parades, arts and crafts, circus performances, special musical performances, activities and games. Not to mention the Art & Craft Fair, Non-Profit Area, Music Biz Playshops, Outdoor Playshops, and daily parades.

But the single most important thing that sets High Sierra apart? YOU. The fans. Raising the vibe and sharing the love. This site is your online playground, a place to connect, discuss, join groups, share photos and videos, and re-live the festival magic year-round. Welcome!

The ALOLIMPICS in 06' were great, seem like that kind of thing was lacking last year. So how do we get this started, BTS under the sea, Dumpstaphunk pimp and hoe or 70's retro. What do ya'll think?

Poi Dog Pondering, Jerry Hannan and Wavy Gravy on KPIG-AM Sat. 5/10

Saturday 5/10 on the KPIG-AM Ham Jam, we'll have members of one of my favorite rock and soul bands, Poi Dog Pondering live in the City Sty! Frank Orrall is an old friend from my Hawaii era, where Frank was raised, and I'm truly looking forward to spending some time with him and members of the latest incarnation of PdP on the air. Also appearing on the show will be Jerry Hannan, who wrote Society, a song sung by Eddie Vedder in the film Into The Wild, and who recently performed with Vedder in Be… Continue
